Beltwagons

Sandvik beltwagons, or mobile transfer conveyors (MTCs), are designed to form a flexible, adjustable, synchronized bridge between the bucket wheel excavator and the bench conveyor in order to ensure a continuous, uninterrupted flow of material from opencast mining operations. Their capacities range from 150 to 10000 m3/h to match the current range of Sandvik bucket wheel excavators.

Sandvik beltwagons are of rational, modular construction and therefore easy to customize for different applications at reasonable cost. Usually built to order, they are track-mounted, available in various boom and conveyor configurations, and equipped with state-of-the-art control systems. Many optional features can be specified. History

 

1950
The brothers Arnold and Kurt Hennig establish the Gebrüder HENNIG oHG in Munich and started manufacturing the first "HENNIG-Bellows" in an apartment.

1951
The company expands quickly. Everyone is talking about HENNIG´s high-quality products. The first agencies are established abroad.

1952
The company is relocated to a former bus garage. The staff consists of 14 persons.

1953
HENNIG continues to grow. More premises are rented on the first floor of a former warehouse. There is an important milestone in the HENNIG chronicle: HENNIG manufactures its first telescopic steel covers.

1959
The construction of a new building in Ismaning near Munich starts in spring, and the company moves into the new premises in the fall.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1965
The company is again bursting at the seams - a new multi-story building is added.

1969
On Dec. 9th, the oHG is transformed into a GmbH.

1975
More than a million HENNIG telescopic steel covers have already been delivered worldwide. The company employs a staff of 230 persons. 18 agencies in 21 industrialized countries maintain close contact with machine manufacturers.

1990
HENNIG also feels the worldwide recession in the machine tool branch. The staff is gradually reduced from 270 to 130 persons. The production program is also adapted to the changed requirements. Chip conveyors, machine enclosures and plastic cable chains are eliminated from the range of products.

1999
Opening of production facilities in Uvaly near Prague. 80 persons work for the Czech branch.

2000
In December, move to new premises in Kirchheim, east of Munich. With this move, the complete production is modernized and reshaped. HENNIG invests in new machines and equipment, among others, a high-speed test bench. In the last five to six years, various new patents have been granted, e.g. for C6 and high-speed covers, to name just a few. In the meantime, HENNIG has become a member of the GOELLNER Group/Rockford Il. USA. Begin repairing steel waycovers at the Charlotte, North Carolina facility.

2001
HENNIG presents itself with a completely new look at the world´s largest machine tool exhibition, the EMO in Hanover.

HENNIG continuously keeps expanding its worldwide presence. Subsidiary companies and partners in the Czech Republic, India, Brazil, England, the USA and Japan as well as 25 agencies from Africa to Sweden ensure convenient and complete machine protection.

2002
With nearly double the production and office space, we are going to adapt the production and engineering capacities of our Czech branch, the HENNIG CZ in Uvaly near Prague, to meet the requirements of the market. This also includes again opening our own mechanical production facilities for components and spare parts. The extensive investment in buildings and machines will be completed by November. Open steel waycover repair facility in Kitchener, Ontario.

2003
A steel waycover repair facility opens in Chandler, Oklahoma.

2004
HENNIG establishes joint venture with Dalian Golden Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. of Dalian, China to manufacture Hennig products in China.

2005
HENNIG adds new service centers in Mexico City, Mexico, and in Detriot, Michigan, USA.

2006
HENNIG adds new service center and extends a license agreement to manufacture steel way covers to Osung Mechatornics in Masan, Korea.

2007

Valid for all forms of telescopic steel covers shown

All forms are made from rolled high-grade steel sheets from 1.5 mm to 3 mm
thick. Corrosion-proof stainless steel can be used for extreme conditions (e. g.
aggressive coolant). Depending on the fittings, speeds of up to 100 m/min
can be attained by steel covers of all shapes. Way wipers, guides, rollers and
damping elements are interchangeable. Gutters (preventing coolant entering
the boxes) can be included in the design of different models.

Vertical covers can be manufactured
in models 1 to 5 above. When using more than 3 boxes, however, it is necessary to provide additional grips on the back to keep the covers from disengaging.

In "Venetian" blind covers, the indi-
vidual slats slide in separate lateral
guide rails. Since these types of covers
do not require slideways, they are
particularly suited for the protection
of column recesses. In the presence
of swarf and coolant, the "Venetian"
blind covers can only be mounted
vertically. The guide rails are available
in various materials to meet individual
requirements.

Cross-rail covers can be manu-

Integral Gutter
The gutter is formed as an integral
part of the rear panel of the individual boxes. This version can be manu-
factured in a cover width of up to
approximately 2000 mm with a 2 to
3 mm thick steel sheet. With a slope
of at least 5 degrees, this form ensures an efficient drainage and prevention of
coolant entering the boxes.

Separate Gutter
On special request, we can manu-
facture separate gutters for covers
more than 2000 mm wide. In this
design, a specially developed way
wiper diverts the coolant along the
inner side of the boxes. Due to its
large cross-section, a separate gutter deflects the water optimally and even
at a slope of at least 5 degrees ensures the drainage of coolants entering the
boxes.

High-Speed Module

 

For high-speed applications, telescopic steel covers must meet extreme
requirements. Hennig develops telescopic steel covers to suit any position and
application, accelerations of up to 2.5 g and speeds of up to 200 m/min., depending

Hennig Chip conveyors are equipped with a slip clutch safety mechanism, which protects the conveyor from damage in the event that an over accumulation of particles or a foreign object blocks the proper movement of the conveyor belt.

Heavy duty direct drive motors power Hennig chip conveyors. All motors used on Hennig conveyors are equipped with overload protection.

Hinge plates and side plates on Hennig chip conveyors are made from heavy-duty steel. These are the heaviest, most durable steels being used in the industry.

To facilitate access to the internal areas of the chip conveyors, Hennig incorporates a removable cover plate in its conveyor design. Removal of the plate is easy, and maintenance to the cover's interior can be conducted with minimal effort.

Hennig outfits chip conveyors with an adjustable takeup mechanism. When required, conveyor belt tension can be easily adjusted without disassembling the conveyor.

Extra heavy-duty roller guides withstand the rigors of constant use and ensure nearly maintenance free operation. This heavy-duty feature allows Hennig chip conveyors to work longer and harder, which greatly reduces maintenance down-time.

Heavy-duty casters can be affixed to some chip conveyors. This can be a very helpful feature, especially when frequent movement of the chip conveyor is required.

·         Hinged belt conveyor - The first stage of filtration system which catches and removes fine, broken or bushy chips.

Performance Features

·         The rotating disc, with permanent media, provides the second stage of filtration.

·         The long-life stainless steel screen is rated at 40 microns, consistent with industry standards.  Other filtration levels are available.

·         The strength of the filtration media allows it to handle both momentary or continuous heavy chip loads which can be a problem with nylon mesh, drum type filters.

Ease of maintenance - minimizes downtime

Media Replacement

·         Easy access - Typically, 20 minutes is all that is needed to remove the access panel and disc, then install the new disc and secure the access panel.

·         Replaced media can be disposed along with chips and does not become a hazardous waste.

·         Disc design and construction keeps replacement media costs very reasonable.

·         The disc seal was designed for quick (10 min.) replacement when required.

Continuous backwash design - effective self-cleaning action

·         Backwash nozzles continuously spray filtered coolant against the stainless steel media removing fines and chips.

·         As shown in the drawing above, the back wash nozzles are designed to be readily accessible for cleaning or replacement.

Low profile system design - accommodates smaller machines
As shown above, the combination of the external disc location and the coolant flow path through the lower half of the disc, allows a very low overall profile.
